LIHEAP also helps families pay for ‘weatherizing’ their homes, such as putting in ceiling insulation, caulking and weather stripping. This helps keep heating and cooling costs down. What do I get? Payments to your energy company worth $174 to $220, depending on your family size and income. Some households may also get a one-time benefit if they have an emergency and cannot pay their energy bills. If your energy costs are included in your rent, you can still get LIHEAP. How long do I get it? You can get LIHEAP during winter months. You need to reapply each winter. |
