You qualify for LIHEAP, if you:
- Pay your household’s heating or electric bill
- Are a U.S. citizen or legal alien
- Have a qualifying income (see the table below)
For example, if your family size is four and your annual household income is $31,800 or less, you’ll likely qualify for LIHEAP.

If you receive food stamps
in your state, you might automatically qualify for LIHEAP. Look for mail from
your county department of Social Services in November that tells you whether or
not you’re eligible.
