What is it? Right From the Start Medicaid is a government health insurance program for pregnant woman and children under age 19. What do I get? Free medical services such as prenatal care and delivery, medical care for your children, perinatal care, postpartum home visits, and substance abuse day treatment care. How long do I get it? Women are covered for up to 60 days after they give birth. Children are covered as long as they still qualify or until age 19. A review will be done every six months to check that you or your children still qualify for Right from the Start Medicaid. A review means that you'll need to show that you still qualify. You'll get a notice in the mail when a review will need to be done. |
